Lexington, VA (05/07/2024) — Jasmine Kiley of Penfield, New York, has been named the 2024 Omicron Delta Kappa National Leader of the Year for Service to Campus and Community. This award is one of the highest honors presented to an undergraduate member of the Society each year.
Kiley is a 2023 initiate of the Tulane University Circle in New Orleans, Louisiana. In May 2024, she will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biological Chemistry and a minor in Public Health.
"I am thrilled to recognize Jasmine, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership as the National Leader of the Year for Service to Campus and Community," Jennifer Waller, ODK president and CEO, said. "This award celebrates an individual achievement that impacts and influences across our world."
Kiley will attend the University of Cambridge as a Fulbright Scholar this fall to pursue a Master of Philosophy in Medical Science, and then will attend medical school at Vanderbilt University.
"Service has been a guiding value in my path as an undergraduate student at Tulane University, and I am grateful for this recognition and the support from ODK," Kiley said. "Creating a positive impact and seeing my peers get excited about making a difference has been a joyful and rewarding experience during my time in New Orleans. I am proud to be part of ODK, and I look forward to continuing to grow my roots within our community as I begin my graduate education."
Kiley served as the Supplemental Instruction Captain and Leader at Tulane, managing a team of more than 50 supplemental instruction leaders. She was vice president, and later president, of Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, leading revitalization efforts that resulted in the chapter raising more than $10,000 for Children's Hospital New Orleans and receiving the Phoenix Award for Most Improved Chapter. Tulane's chapter also received the Chapter Excellence Award the following year. Kiley was also recognized internationally as Phi Delta Epsilon's Outstanding Premedical Member.
"Tulane University is extremely proud of Jasmine, a leader who represents the values of Tulane University and Omicron Delta Kappa in word and deed." Laura Osteen, Tulane University circle coordinator, said.
As co-president of After School Newcomb Tutoring, she coordinated a partnership with Title I schools and mentored other student tutors. Kiley was also named a Stamps Scholar at Tulane, taking on a leadership role within the program to help strengthen the connections between scholars across all classes.
