Juliette LeRay Named 2024 Omicron Delta Kappa National Leader of the Year - Communications
Lexington, VA (05/07/2024) — Juliette LeRay of Hammond, Louisiana, has been named the 2024 Omicron Delta Kappa National Leader of the Year for Communications. This award is one of the highest honors presented to an undergraduate member of the Society each year.
LeRay is a 2023 initiate of the Louisiana State University Circle in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Public Relations and a minor in Business Administration. She will begin pursuing a Master of Business Administration at LSU this fall.
"I am thrilled to recognize Juliette, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership as the National Leader of the Year for Communications," Jennifer Waller, OK president and CEO, said. "This award celebrates an individual achievement that impacts and influences across our world."
As president of LSU's Public Relations Student Society of America, LeRay led efforts to grow the organization from 10 members to more than 150 students, and created new strategies to increase the number of LSU students who won awards through PRSSA. She was also elected as the 2023-2024 LSU Homecoming Queen.
"As a mass communication major at Louisiana State University, I have enjoyed communicating with my fellow peers on campus through organizational and academic involvement," LeRay said. It has been such a pleasure to serve as a representative for our incredible university by conversing with prospective and current students and parents."
LeRay currently works as a communications specialist for the LSU College of Human Sciences and Education, and completed communications internships with ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, Action News 17, and KLSU. She worked as an LSU Ambassador, representing the university at recruitment events to engage with parents and prospective students. She was a member of Delta Gamma's Executive Office Collegiate Advisory Board, served on LSU's Student Philanthropy Council, and graduated as an LSU Distinguished Communicator Program Medalist.
Luke Laborde, LSU ODK circle coordinator, said the Alpha Nu Circle is thrilled that LeRay will continue to be engaged as a graduate student.
"Juliette has been an inspiration to us all in her role as an ambassador for both The Manship School of Mass Communications and for Louisiana State University," Laborde said. "She is a constant face and volunteer across our campus community."
