Mia Watts Receives Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship
Mia C. Watts (Stockton University, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a scholarship from Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. Mia will graduate from Stockton University in May of 2024 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. She serves as Stockton University's Omicron Delta Kappa Circle treasurer and was named Stockton University's 2022-2023 Circle Officer of the Year. She found her passion for computers in a high school elective programming course and continues to work closely with instructors to research technology and its heavy influence on the business world. She co-created and co-leads an application development team that succeeded in providing a small business with a workable database system. Mia will pursue a graduate degree in computer science within the next three years, hoping to start an independent study on cloud computing before graduating from her current institution.

Tahrington Phillips Receives Kenneth P. Ruscio Scholarship from ODK
Tahrington (Tahri) Phillips (Washington and Lee University, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Kenneth P. Ruscio Scholarship from Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. Tahri graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Lee University (W&L) in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in English and Cognitive and Behavioral Science and a minor in Africana Studies. Tahri was one of only two juniors at W&L to be initiated in spring 2022 into both Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Beta Kappa. She was the Head Community Assistant for Woods Creek and Theme Houses for the Office of Residence Life, the treasurer and public relations chair for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a student representative on W&L's Student Affairs Committee. She was also a captain on the varsity women's basketball team, the co-president of W&L's all-female acapella group, a research assistant in a cognitive and behavioral science research lab, and a three-time student co-facilitator for W&L's First-Year Experience course. She received numerous awards during her undergraduate career, including the university's highest individual award, the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. She is W&L's 18th Rhodes Scholar and will pursue a master's in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford. She plans to explore intervention strategies for at-risk and underrepresented youth inside and outside the classroom.

Shelby White Receives Winston M. Blount Scholarship
Shelby White (University of Alabama at Birmingham, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of the Winston M. Blount Scholarship from Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. Shelby graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in April 2023 with a bachelor of science in psychology and a minor in neuroscience. During her time at UAB, she served as philanthropy chair of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, and as president of the UAB ODK circle (chapter). Shelby is passionate about mental health advocacy and working with children. She is continuing her education at the University of Alabama, where she will be pursuing a master's in clinical mental health counseling. She plans to become a licensed professional counselor and spend her career counseling children and becoming a children's forensic interviewer.

Julia Zhong Receives ODK Scholarship
Julia Zhong (Emory University, 2020) is a 2023-2024 recipient of an LGBTQ+ Scholarship from Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. Julia Zhong graduated from Emory University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and a minor in Sociology. As an undergraduate, she conducted research in the Pediatric Neuroimaging Lab at the Marcus Autism Center investigating caregiver-infant dyads. She also co-founded and served as a Chief of Staff of Emory's Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Activists student organization, for which she received the 2021 Undergraduate Student Leader of the Year award. Julia was also involved as a music director for several Emory student theater productions, served as a resident advisor, and interned for various Asian American advocacy organizations. After graduating, Julia worked as a postgraduate research associate at the Yale Child Study Center, coordinating a clinical trial of psychotherapy for irritability for adolescents on the autism spectrum. She will be pursuing her PhD at Suffolk University in Clinical Psychology, focusing her research on Asian American mental health and race-based traumatic stress.

Arianna Pierre Receives Key Fund Scholarship
Arianna Pierre (University of South Carolina, 2022) is the 2023-2024 recipient of a Key Fund Scholarship. Arianna Pierre graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in public relations and a minor in Spanish. While at U of SC, she held in multiple leadership positions in professional organizations and student government, including serving as the Chapter President of the Public Relations Student Society of America during her senior year. Outside of on-campus activities, Arianna held four internships during her collegiate career for which she received the Outstanding Public Relations Internship Award at University Senior Awards Day. This fall, Arianna will be pursuing a master's degree in integrated marketing communications at the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies in Washington, DC.

Kevin Wu Receives Scott R. Goodale Memoral Endowed Scholarship
Kevin Wu (Emory University, 2020) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Scott R. Goodale Memorial Endowed Scholarship Kevin Wu graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in May 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Biology, Economics and Mathematics. While at Emory, he participated in undergraduate research, exploring the use of microRNAs in cancer therapies. Kevin served as a peer mentor of the Emory Circle, was a residential advisor, and was a part of the Varsity Cross country team at the Oxford College of Emory University where he received GCAA First team and NJCAA All-Academic First Team awards. He received multiple academic awards during his time at Emory including the Biology faculty award, Class Marshal and ODK. He participated in several business competitions in healthcare, winning first place in the Health category at Hack Atlanta and representing Emory at the Global Social Innovation Challenge. During his undergraduate time, he also conducted research into machine learning at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is currently pursuing a medical degree at the Duke University School of Medicine. He hopes to help bring innovation into medicine through future research and devices.

Timothy Verhaegh Receives Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship
Timothy Verhaegh (The College of Idaho, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship Timothy Verhaegh graduated summa cum laude from The College of Idaho (CofI) in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish, and minors in Psychology and Health, and Pre-Professional Foundations. While at CofI, he was a member of the Gipson Honors Program and a Heritage Scholar. In addition to his science courses, he participated in biochemical research at a local company, and interned for two summers as a medical assistant and EMT in the small, mountain town of Stanley, Idaho. He also served as a student tutor, a mentor for incoming students, a student facilitator for an honors colloquium,helped establish the Active Minds club, was a member of the Men's Track and Field Team, and was President of the Pre-Health club. He prioritized volunteering at two local homeless shelters and improving his language and cultural understanding by studying abroad in Granada, Spain. Timothy will use his scholarship to attend the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles to pursue his medical degree. He is passionate about serving others and is excited to continue his journey toward becoming a physician.

James H. Torbert Receives Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship
James Torbert (Washington and Lee University, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship James Holland Torbert graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in May of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy with honors and a minor in Law, Justice, and Society. While at W&L, James spent two years competing as a varsity athlete for the men's tennis team. James was also a University Ambassador, providing interactive tours to prospective students and their families. His first year at W&L,James was selected and trained to serve as a hearing advisor, tasked with assisting students accused of possible honor and conduct violations. His second year, he was elected to the Student Executive Committee,Washington and Lee's primary student government entity. His junior and senior year, James served as President of the Student Body, overseeing W&L's entirely student-run Honor System. In recognition of his involvement and leadership, James was awarded both The Madison Montgomery Shinaberry '16 Outstanding Student Leadership Award and The Alexander Thomas Boehling '10 Memorial Award. Jamie Katz Receives Stephen D. Bisese Scholarship
Jamie Katz (University of Richmond, 2018) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Stephen D. Bisese (University of Richmond) Scholarship Jamie Katz graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond (UR) in May 2019 with abachelor's degree in psychology and leadership studies with a minor in religious studies. While at UR, shecompleted an honors thesis research project to investigate the effects of art and awe on grief and charitabledonations. In recognition of her unique findings, she was awarded the Jablin Research Award for outstandingundergraduate research. Jamie served as a Teaching Fellow for the Department of Psychology, atour guide forthe university, and an ambassador for the Office of Alumni. Additionally, she was the founder and clubpresident of a campus organization called Gift of Life where she added 750 students to the national bonemarrow registry in hopes of finding blood cancer patients their life-saving marrow match.Jamie is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Psychology at Arizona State University (ASU) where she willcontinue her research on positive emotions and wellbeing. At ASU she has served as a TeachingAssistant,mentor, and member of the Psychology Graduate Student Association. She plans to use research to createinterventions and shape policy to help vulnerable populations.

As a music major, Abigail served as the president of Campbell's chapter of the NationalAssociationfor Music Education (NAfME) from 2019-2020. As president, she organized conference events,planned volunteer opportunities, and led fundraisers for the organization. Additionally, Abigail worked as asight-singing and ear training tutor, Wiggins Memorial Library circulation assistant, and Scott Concert Hallattendant. Micah Jordan Receives Clemson University Scholarship
Micah Jordan (Clemson University, 2021) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Clemson University Scholarship Micah Christopher Jordan graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University in May 2023 with abachelor's degree in bioengineering and a minor in chemistry. Additionally, he was awarded general honors anddepartmental honors in public health. While at Clemson, he participated in research exploring the associationbetween residential segregation and all-cause mortality in the United States. His research was accepted forpresentation at the American Public Health Association. As a Dixon Global Policy Scholar, he authorednumerous health policy proposals, including a proposal to implement mobile dental clinics in rural SC whichwon the Pay It Forward competition in 2022. Micah was the president of a campus ministry, the vicepresident of Grand Challenge Scholars, and a lead resident assistant for first-year students. Troy Donofrio Receives Omicrron Delta Kappa Scholarship
Troy Donofrio (Grove City College, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron DeltaTroy Donofrio graduated summa cum laude from Grove City College with a bachelor's of science in exercisescience. While completing his undergraduate degree he was a member of the varsity football team, both as acoachand a player, a member of the exercise science Club, the Vice President of the Epsilon Pi Fraternity, anda teaching assistant for anatomy and physiology. He was heavily involved in research as he is a publishedauthor in a well-known academic journal andcurrently has another study that is being submitted forpublication. Abigail Heuton Receives LGBTQ+ Scholarship
Abigail Heuton (University of Montevallo, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a LGBTQ+ Scholarship Abigail Heutonwill graduate from the University of Montevallo in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree inCommunication Studies and Political Science with minors in Public Relations, Peace and Justice studies, andPre-Law. She currently serves as the President of the University of Montevallo Circle. While at the Universityof Montevallo, she participated in undergraduate research in exploring the sense of belonging as an Asexualperson in the LGBTQ+ community. Abigail Heuton served as SGA Vice President, Chi Omega VicePresident, Chi Omega DEI Chair, Co-Leader of Purple Side, a student librarian, student worker in thecalendar office, and Secretary for Lambda Pi Eta. In her free time, she participates as a dance team memberon the University of Montevallo Dance Team. Abigailhas participated at Model United Nations where sheand her fellow teammate received the Best Delegation Position Paper Award in 2022. In recognition ofcreating a positive change in the Communication Studies program and on campus, Abigail was awarded aCommunication Studies Leadership Award in 2023. In addition, she received the Denson Scholarship Awardfrom the Behavior and Social Sciences Department in 2023 for her leadership roles and advocacy on campus.Abigail's plans for the future are to go to graduate school to earn a degree in either library science orcommunication studies to become a professor where she hopes to be an advocate for equal access to educationand teaching that the youth is the key to the future.

Andrew Emmert (University of Cincinnati, 2017) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Diane and Tom Vukovich Scholarship Andrew Scott (Scottie) Emmert graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati in May 2019with a bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences and a certificate in Pre-Medicine. While at UC, he participatedin undergraduate research focused on genetically engineering novel rat models of congenital hydrocephalus("water on the brain") for which he was awarded a 2018 Barry Goldwater Scholarship. Scottie served asEditor-in-Chief of the UC College of Medicine's Undergraduate Newsletter, Co-founder and President ofMedical Sciences Ambassadors, and a ROAR Tour Guide among other leadership roles. Sofia Bustamante Eguiguren (University of Richmond, 2018) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship Sofia Bustamante Eguiguren is a PhD student at the University of Oxford at the Sir William Dunn School ofPathology, in Dr. Omer Dushek'slaboratory where she investigates the impact of stimulatory and inhibitoryreceptors on cytotoxic T cells' T cell receptor with a focus on immunotherapies. Her PhD/Dphil is funded witha Clarendon Scholarship, a prestigious scholarship given by the University of Oxford. Before joining Oxford,she worked as a research technician at the University of California San Francisco for two years, aftergraduating from the University of Richmond (UR) in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistryand Molecular Biology. She graduated summa cum laude with an honors thesis in Dr. Carrie Wu and Dr.Kristine Nolin's labs studying the convergent adaptation in hair-like structures called trichomes in Mimulus, ormonkeyflowers, using imaging and compound-discovery techniques. During her time at UR she was also amember of several mentorship groups, as well as an active member of the Richmond Scholar Student Council.

Frances R. Hubbard (St. Lawrence University, 2021) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Matthew B. Nobles Scholarship for International Studies. Frances Hubbard graduated summa cum laude from St. Lawrence University (SLU) in May 2022 with aBachelor of Arts in Government with Honors, and minors in History and Performance andCommunicationArts. In addition to her membership in ODK, she was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha, andLambda Pi Eta.While at SLU, Frances completed research on the rhetoric of Equal Rights Amendment debates, the politicalpower of museums and statuary, and studied strategic issue framing of racial reparations in the United Statesfor her Honors Thesis. Frances was also the President of the Student Alumni Association, editor ofTheUndergroundUndergraduate Research Journal, and Communications Chair for the Class of 2022 Council.In recognition of leadership and academic excellence, as well as potential for a career in public service, FrancesHubbard received the Bernard J. Anna Austin Receives Lit and Mary Maxwell Scholarship
Anna Austin (University of Richmond, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Lit and Mary Maxwell Scholarship Anna Austin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Richmond in 2023 with a Bachelor ofScience double majoring in biology and healthcare studies. During her time at the University of Richmond shewas involved with the Peer Advisors and Mentor program and the URWell Peer Educator group. Kaylee Goodspeed (Lamar University, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship. Kaylee Goodspeed graduated summa cum laude from Lamar University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in legal studies. During her undergraduate studies, Kaylee conducted award-winning research and served in several leadership roles. The positions she held included President of the Honors Student Association, President of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, Chief Justice of the Student Government Association's Supreme Court, Class Senator, Lamar University Ambassador and decorated member of the Moot Court team. Kaylee also represented the student body as a member of the Student Service Fee Committee. Coral C. Douglas (LaGrange College, 2019) is a 2023-2024 recipient of the Sally K. Albrecht Fellowship in Arts Scholarship Coral Douglas (b. 1999) is a composer and multi-instrumentalist, focusing on digital audio manipulation, aesthetics, semiotics, and communication. They received a Bachelor of Music fromLaGrange College in 2020and a Master of Music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2022. Douglas is currently studying atCornell, in pursuit of the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree.As a composer, Douglas' focus lies within stylistic plurality, owing much of their musical ideas to the shared space between the Aesthetic and the Unknown. Resulting compositions seek to reinvent traditional linear models by placing value in the role of expectation. Coral places high value on composer-performer collaboration, which gives room for collective creativity and a candid, feedback-informed process.Beyond composition, Coral is active as an audio engineer, videographer and visual artist. Having served as a youth choral conductor and private lesson teacher, Coral firmly believes in the necessity of accessible, diverse music education.

Abigail Elbert graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Human Health Science and two minors in Business and Health Advocacy along with a certificate in Clinical Leadership and Management. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude. Abigail had many leadership experiences throughout college which included Student President of ODK for two years and VP of BusinessAffairs for one year, Volunteer Chair and Treasurer for the Pre-Dental Society, Give Kids the World Coordinator and Treasurer for PreMed Activities Council, and an IHRC Residence Hall Representative. Abigail was also involved with other activities on campus such as Chi Omega, UK Alumni Ambassador, Education Abroad to Italy in the summer of 2022, and a weekly volunteer at the RMHC in Lexington. For all of her hard work, dedication, community spirit and leadership, Abigail was awarded Circle Leader of the Year in 2022 and made the University of Kentucky's Dean's List all four years of undergraduate education. Upon graduation, she worked asa mentor to high school girls interested in STEM careers from across the Middle East, North Africa, andCentral Asia with the US State Department's TechGirls Program. She then organized in Cedar Rapids, Iowafor Elizabeth Warren's Presidential Primary Campaign. Following leadership of a campus chapter of AmnestyInternational at W&L, Rossella then worked with Amnesty International professionally to facilitate theirWrite for Rights Campaign, serving as a specialist of 10 cases of human rights defenders wrongfullyimprisoned globally.A Rhodes Scholar, she received a degree in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford,where she wrote extensively on AI ethics and served as the Career Team Lead of the Oxford AI Society. Now astudent at Yale Law School, she serves as the Co-Chair of the Student Representatives, the Chapter Directorof the International Refugee Assistance Project, and the First-Generation College Chair of the First-Generation Professionals. Taylor DeHart Receives Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship
Taylor DeHart (Clemson University, 2018) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship. Taylor DeHart graduated cum laude with general honors from Clemson University in May 2019 with herBachelor of Science in Microbiology with a biomedicine concentration and minors in French and Genetics.While at ClemsonUniversity, Taylor was heavily involved on campus as a research assistant, tutor, and leader. In addition to serving as an executive board leader of ODK, Taylor also held leadership positions inDelta Zeta Sorority, Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society, Order of Omega Honor Society, and the ProfessionalGreek Council. She won two awards from the Fraternity and Sorority Life department for her exemplary leadership, service, and caring attitude. Taylor studied abroad in France, Lithuania, and Ecuador, and she was awarded the Benjamin A. Olivia DePergola Receives Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship
Olivia DePergola (Duquesne University, 2021) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship. Olivia DePergolagraduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University in May 2023 with a Bachelor ofArts with a major in biochemistry and minors in biology and mathematics. During her undergraduate career,she served as president of the Duquesne University Circle, vice president of the International Forensic ScienceHonor Society, and treasurer of Gamma Sigma Sigma, a national service sorority. Her affiliation with thesegroups allowed her to connect with her campus and local communities as she became a regular volunteer,raising money for children's hospitals, cancer research, and mental health awareness, as well as building arecovery home for victims of human trafficking. Olivia also conducted independent research as a junior andsenior and was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in the Undergraduate Research Program atDuquesne.Olivia will attend graduate school in Duquesne University's Forensic Science and Law Program where she willcontinue her independent research on the human hyoid bone to discover the impact of age and sex on thestrength and fracture patterns of the bone in a simulation of manual strangulation to aid post-mortemdeterminations. Giselle De La Rua Receives Laura Larissa Morgan Scholarship
Giselle De La Rua (University of Miami,2019) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Laura Larissa Morgan (University of Miami) Scholarship Giselle De La Ruagraduated cum laude from the University of Miami in May 2021 with her Bachelor ofScience with a major in neuroscience. Since graduation, Giselle has begun her studies at the University ofMiami Miller's School of Medicine. She currently serves in a number of roles across campus in organizationssuch as Academic Societies, Miami Street Medicine, Ultrasound Interest Group, and Medical Ethics InterestGroup. She also serves as a member of the Paff Award committee, Professional Identity Formation committee,and Office of Diversity, Inclusion, & Community Engagement (ODICE) Advisory Board. In addition to herleadership, Giselle is working alongside her peers and Dr. Kenneth Goodman to review and update medicalethics policies for the Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade. Giselle is also working alongside her mentor Dr.Paloma Toledo on a quality improvement study aiming to improve labor & delivery transfusion practices atJackson Memorial Hospital. Allyson Gail David Receives Key Fund Scholarship
Allyson David (Stockton University, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Key Fund Scholarship. Allyson Gail David graduated Summa Cum Laude at Stockton University in May 2022 with a B.S. inBiology, Pre Professionalstudies and a Disability studies minor. She obtained membership in Tri BetaBiological Honor Society of the Nu Tau Chapter and consistently achieved Dean's list standings. Allyson hasspent her time in between courses advocating in multicultural clubs such as Asian Student Alliance andPilipino American Student Association of Stockton. Alongside these extracurriculars, she led young prospectivemedical professionals as Co-Director of Public Relations and as Zeta Class Parent of the Alpha Pi Chapter ofDelta Epsilon Mu in 2021. Rebecca Bovee Receives Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship
Rebecca Bovee (Ferris State University, 2022) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Omicron Delta Kappa Scholarship. Rebecca Boveeis, a 2026 Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate, studying at Ferris State University's College of Pharmacy. She currently serves as both Regent and House Manager of the Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity Kappa Psi, New Member Coordinator of the Student Alumni Gold Club, Operation Disease Management of the American Pharmacists Association, and holds membership in Phi Lambda Sigma and Omicron Delta Kappa. She enjoys traveling, singing, and volunteering. Rebecca is an Inner Circle volunteer at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts and assists as an usher in her free time. She is also a frequent blood donor and helps to promote and run blood drives on her college campus.In recognition of her exemplary leadership and involvement in both the campus and community, Rebecca was a Rising Star Award winner in May 2022. Catheryn A. Bolick Receives Michael Barla Scholarship
Catheryn Bolick (Middle Tennessee State University, 2019) is a 2023-2024 recipient of a Michael Barla Scholarship. Catheryn Bolick graduated magna cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA from Middle Tennessee StateUniversity (MTSU) in May 2023 with bachelor's degrees in biology and clarinet performance, with minors inFrench andchemistry. In 2018, she was one of only twenty students selected for the Buchanan Fellowshipprogram through the MTSU Honors College, culminating in November 2022 with the defense of her originalmolecular biology research thesis. She received several awards throughout her undergraduate career, mostnotably several Outstanding Student of the Year awards from the Biology Department and the HonorsCollege, as well as a 2023 Phi Kappa Phi National Fellowship. Catheryn served in many leadership roles forthe MTSU Circle since her initiation in 2019, including secretary, vice president, and Circle President (2022-2023). She also served as a music theory tutor, vocalist for the Reformed University Fellowship music team,clarinet teacher, swim instructor, and nursery volunteer for her church. She performed clarinet in variousmusical ensembles through the MTSU School of Music and community ensembles, and performed classicalballet with The Dancer's School in Murfreesboro, TN.
